We create events that model the
just, loving, and liberatory world
we’re striving toward.

As a Black-owned, woman-owned, queer-owned company, we bring that vision into every detail: who’s invited, who’s heard, how decisions are made, and how people are treated.

Living Our Values At Work

At Convening Toward Liberation, our values shape how we show up for our clients, for the people in our events, and for each other. We believe in care over scarcity, equity over extraction, and thoughtful response over rushed reaction. When we say we want everyone at our events to feel welcomed, celebrated, and included, that starts with how we treat our own team.

  • We design both our gatherings and our workplace for access and accountability, centering those most often left out, and moving at a pace that respects real people’s real lives.

  • Our team operates on a mindful 4-day, 32-hour workweek during portions of the year, Monday through Thursday, and when we are in our peak seasons, we reserve Fridays for focused desk time.

  • Following our events, we carve out time for our team to rest and reemerge. We communicate clearly (with each other and our clients), build in lead time, and make space for pause.

  • We’re compensated equitably, with time off, health coverage, professional development allowances, and retirement contributions that reflect the worth of our labor.

LEARN ABOUT US

We design every gathering with purpose, shaping it from the ground up to honor people’s full humanity.

Every gathering, event, and celebration we create is a living practice of the liberated future we’re building, where everyone–no exceptions–is welcomed, celebrated, and included.

Sharing Our Values With The Social Justice Ecosystem

As we grow, we’re expanding into teaching, coaching, and training on how to practice liberation in event design and production. We want to help teams move beyond good intentions and diversity checklists, and toward concrete practices that build equity, accountability, and care into the structure of their gatherings. This approach isn’t just the right thing to do, it’s how we get closer to a world where everyone–no exceptions–is welcomed, celebrated, and included.

Our long-term vision goes beyond transforming events. Ultimately, we want to reshape the field of hospitality itself, moving away from urgency and burnout and toward something more human, more sustainable, and more just.
