At Convening Toward Liberation, we believe in the power of celebration, especially in the face of oppression.
Just like our enslaved ancestors danced in defiance, and queer and trans kin carved out freedom on the ballroom floor, we create gatherings as acts of care, connection, and collective power. We transform how people see and experience events. Retreats, conferences, galas, summits–every one is a chance to deepen our relationships, affirm our shared humanity, and practice the liberated world we’re building together.
We design every gathering with purpose, shaping it from the ground up to honor people’s full humanity. That means building events where everyone–whatever their body, identity, or needs–not only feels safe, but welcomed, celebrated, and included. No one has to earn their belonging, prove their place, or shrink to fit. This is our non-negotiable commitment to each person’s dignity, woven into the core of every event.
